When my husband and I decided we were ready to have children, we took matters into our own hands when it didn’t happen right away. We sought doctors, took medications, and underwent multiple tests. When nothing seemed to be working, we were given two options: try a new medication that had been found to force ovulation in some women or look into invitro fertilization. We could have tried either one of those. I could have tried yet another medication to see if that was the “magic” one. But my body had already been through so much and the medications I had taken just made me sick, not pregnant. We could have tried IVF. That almost guarantees a pregnancy, but that would really be forcing the issue, and is not how God wants us to have babies. If we would have forced the issue, we probably would have had a baby. Babies are blessings no matter how they come to us. But maybe we would have only had one. Maybe even two. But because we chose not to do things our way and give up the situation to God and let him have control over our family, he blessed us more than we could have possibly imagined. He didn’t just give us one baby. He didn’t even give us two babies. He gave us SIX!! When we stop trying to control what only God can control, give it all to Him, and trust him with it, He rewards us with the FULL blessing. When we keep a tight grip on things, thinking we know what we want and how best to get it, it hinders what God wants to do for us. We know God will bless us, but we don’t know much He wants to bless us until we let it go. Put it in his hands. Let him do the work. We can only take things so far by ourselves. God wants to give YOU your FULL blessing. Are you willing to let go?
